AEG Launch the O2

 

AEG is one of the leading providers of live entertainment and sporting events in the world. They own and operate some of the world’s greatest arenas and theatres as well as a collection of companies dedicated to producing, promoting and presenting world-class live entertainment.

 

In partnering with O2 they have created the UK’s most exciting and technically advanced music, sport and entertainment destination on the site of the old Millennium Dome.

 

 

 

AEG have for some time been preparing the O2 venue and the workforce required to execute its launch and first music events which took place in June 2007.  At the end of 2006, AEG Europe purchased the Select HR solution to help administer the considerable recruitment campaign and subsequent management of its now almost 1000 staff.

 

 

 

Top of the bill in June was Bon Jovi, followed by Snow Patrol.  Select Software implementation consultant, Phil Byrne, visited the venue to see Snow Patrol and gauge the experience first hand.  “It is a very impressive venue with a large arena catering for audiences of up to 20,000 and a smaller arena for those who appreciate their music in a more intimate environment, sports events are also planned for later in the year”, comments Phil.

 

 

It seems they also have a bar!

 

 

With such considerable growth already and further growth planned, AEG Europe chose to implement the Select HR Recruit module alongside the core HR management system so that applicants could apply online through their website.

 

Applicants can now apply online for vacancies at AEG Europe, AEG Live, Thames Clippers and the David Beckham Academy. 

 

 

Applicants can search for vacancies and complete their details online as well as upload a CV.  After submitting their application, they can also log back onto the website to track its progress.

 

“I think this will be of great benefit to AEG”, comments Phil Byrne, who has assisted with the implementation.  “It should save considerable administrative resource and enable an efficient recruitment process”.
