You
will need a copy of Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or 2005 on your server.
What do I need to run
selecthr:clearvision?
You
will need a copy of Internet Information Server (IIS) 5 or
above on your Web server.
Which operating platforms can we use?
Windows 2000 or XP Professional.
Does
selecthr:insight
need to be installed on a server?
selecthr:insight
can be installed using MSDE (a simplified version
of SQL Server) although a server with full SQL 2000 or 2005 is
recommended. Compatible server software includes Windows
2000/2003 and NT.
How much space do we need?
You
should allow approximately 500 Mbytes initially on the
server and approximately 60 Mbytes on each client machine,
however the system may increase in size depending on the
number of records held.
selecthr:insight has built in facilities to
compact the database.
Can we use
selecthr:insightover a WAN?
Yes, performance will depend upon the available performance
of the link. If performance is limited then we recommend the
use of Windows Terminal Services or similar 'Thin
Client' technology. |
Can
we add additional modules and users after the initial
purchase?
Yes
new modules and users can be added at any time.
Do we receive upgrades?
Yes, free upgrades are part of our maintenance service and
are usually issued annually. Legislative changes such as
P11d, will be issued on floppy disc, or via email, as and
when needed.
Can we make design changes to the system?
Yes, customers may make design changes if they wish, this is
also a service provided by Select Software if required.
Subject to sufficient documentation of such changes, they
will be retained on upgrades.
Can data from our existing systems be transferred into
selecthr:insight?
Data provided in the appropriate format (e.g. ASCII, CSV,
Excel) can be imported into
selecthr:insight
where common fields are
available and the structure of the existing data is similar
to, or compatible with,
selecthr:insight. Please ring for more
details if you are unsure.
Can
selecthr:insight
be linked with other internal systems such as
payroll?
selecthr:insight
has import and export facilities and standard links
to many different payroll systems (both in-house and
bureau). We are always happy to discuss linking to other
systems you may have.
Is
selecthr:insight
multi-user?
selecthr:insight
can be used in a stand-alone or multi-user
